Web design & development

Websites that turn visitors into customers.

I design and build fast, custom-coded websites for service businesses, planned around what your buyers need to see before they call.

The short answer

A high-converting website does three things in the first few seconds: it tells the right visitor they are in the right place, it proves you can be trusted, and it makes the next step obvious. I design and build custom-coded sites that do exactly that, load fast on a phone, are ready for Google and AI search, and are easy for you to update.

How I approach it

The method.

  1. 01

    Message before pixels

Pages are planned around what your buyers need to decide, with real copy, real photos and one clear action per page. The design comes after the message is right.

  2. 02

    Designed for the phone first

Most service-business visitors arrive on a phone, often straight from a map listing or an ad. Layouts, tap targets and calls to action are built for that visit first.

  3. 03

    Custom-coded for speed

Most of my sites are hand-coded in clean HTML, CSS and PHP instead of stacked plugins and page builders. That means fast load times, strong Core Web Vitals, fewer security holes and no platform lock-in. WordPress, Shopify or Webflow when a project calls for it.

  4. 04

Ready for search and AI on day one

Semantic structure, schema markup, clean URLs, a sitemap and an llms.txt file ship with every build, so Google and AI assistants can understand and cite the site.

  5. 05

    Easy to own

A lightweight editor lets you update photos, projects and reviews without calling a developer, and the site is yours, with no monthly builder fees.

FAQ

Web Design, answered.

What makes a website convert?

Clarity, trust and a single obvious next step. Visitors should know within seconds what you do, who it is for and where you work; see proof such as reviews, real photos and past work; and find one clear action, like call, book or get a quote, repeated on every page. Speed matters too: a slow page loses visitors before they read anything.

Why custom-coded instead of a template or page builder?

Custom-coded sites load faster, rank better on Core Web Vitals, have far fewer plugins to break or get hacked, and are not tied to a platform subscription. For a service business with a focused set of pages, that is usually the better long-term choice. For stores or teams that need a specific platform, I build on WordPress, Shopify or Webflow instead.

Can AI build my website instead?

AI can generate a decent-looking page in minutes. What it cannot do is know your market, decide what the page must say to win a skeptical buyer, or connect the site to your search, ads and follow-up. The design is the easy part now. The strategy behind it, and the system around it, is the work.

How long does it take to build a website?

Most service-business sites take a few weeks from kickoff to launch. The biggest variable is how quickly content, photos and feedback come together, so a clear plan and one decision-maker speed everything up.

Will a new website rank on Google?

A well-built site removes the technical reasons not to rank: speed, structure, schema and crawlability. Where you rank still depends on competition, content, reviews and your Google Business Profile, which is why the website and SEO are planned together.
